Born: 22 August 1862 in Saint-Germain-en-Laye, France
Died: 25 March 1918 in Paris, France.
Claude Debussy was a 20th century French composer and was well known for his contribution to Impressionist music. Debussy’s music embraced nontraditional scales and tonal structures, he is one of the most highly regarded composers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
In this video he discusses Debussy’s Images, which will be performed alongside Enescu’s Symphony No.1 on 22 April at Poole Lighthouse.
